Emerson Model 510 Radio (1946)

The Emerson Model 510 is an attractive little wooden radio from 1946. Inside is a conventional 5-tube chassis.

This one has a black plastic faceplate. It was also offered with an ivory plastic faceplate.

Model 520 has the same design, but its cabinet is Catalin rather than wood, increasing its appeal to collectors who like that sort of thing. It is rather common, and hence more affordable than most Catalin radios.

This radio required little in the way of restoration, other than routine capacitor replacement and a little touching up of the cabinet finish.
