Motorola Model 51X11 Bakelite Radio (1941)

This midget-sized bakelite model has a homey appearance. It sits on a high shelf in our kitchen. The back proudly proclaims that it's "equipped with Motorola's Aero-Vane high efficiency loop." Despite the marketing puffery, it's a conventional loop antenna fastened inside the radio's back plate.
